South Pennines Park Awards seeks sponsors and nominations

If you are an individual, community group or one of the brilliant businesses within the South Pennines Park, we want to hear from you.

This year we have launched the inaugural South Pennines Park Awards 2023. The categories aim to recognise personal achievements that benefit our local community and celebrate nature and the diverse landscape within the spectacular park – which spans from Skipton to Uppermill, and Horwich to Huddersfield.

Why should you sponsor the event?
The South Pennines Park Awards 2023 aim to celebrate all the great groups and individuals, schools, charities and businesses across the park’s 560-square mile footprint – to raise the profile of them and the South Pennines Park as a whole.

Why should you, as a business, get involved?
Not only will the South Pennines Park Awards 2023 culminate in an in-person celebratory event, businesses who sponsor the event will benefit from social media mentions, website news stories, and inclusion in press releases – as well as the chance to network likeminded people.

All sponsors will be able to use the South Pennines Park Award 2023 logo in their marketing materials.

How else can you help?
The key element of the awards event will be the people it showcases. We need your help to find these people.
We want to celebrate the unsung heroes who live and work here – and to do so we need you to help us spread the word to generate nominations of worthy candidates.

Why should you nominate a community group?
A nomination is a way to show appreciation to those who go over and above to benefit the Park. It’s an opportunity for you, and your members to say thank you to the groups in the South Pennines Park that you feel deserve celebration. Whether they plant trees, preserve peat or help wellbeing causes within the community, put them on our radar with a nomination.

Why should you nominate an individual?
A single person can make a big impact! We know how beneficial someone with the right approach and energy can make – and those people are the ones we want to celebrate as part of the South Pennines Park Awards 2023.

Whether they litter pick in your neighbourhood, campaign for nature or green issues, pass on their green skills, use their creativity to showcase the Park, or something else that benefits nature and each other, we want to know!

It’s quick and easy to nominate someone, and it’s free to enter.

A full list of the categories is available online and you can apply online in minutes. You can even remain anonymous if you want.

Four successful nominees will be shortlisted for each category with the winners announced at an awards ceremony in May.
