Voices from the Park

We’re delighted to release a series of unique audio recordings as Voices from the Park, our listening project. The idea for the project came from our first diversity and inclusion review, where it became clear that many voices are not heard in conversations about nature and the environment.

Voices from the Park explores the everyday lives of a wide range of people living or working in the Park, their lived experiences, and informs our understanding around our heritage, nature and what helps us to thrive and feel like we belong. Each episode is introduced by our ambassadors, musicians O’Hooley and Tidow, and features music from their South Pennines anthem Chimneys, Moors and Me which was commissioned by South Pennines Park as part of our launch in 2021.

We hope these recordings, recorded and developed by South Pennines-based sound artist Studio Napoleon IIIrd, will be listened to far and wide. We also hope that Voices will inspire people in the Park in our collective journey to bring recognition, resources and opportunities to our beautiful and unique region.

You can listen to all episodes now on Podbean. We would really appreciate it if you would follow us and tell your friends and family.
