19/12/2023: The South Pennines Park organisation has closed. This website will remain online for information-only and not be updated.

Thank you for your messages of support

Since we announced the closure of our organisation we have had some wonderful messages and memories shared with us so we would like to share some of those in this our final blog.

We also had people come forward with some of their favourite projects in our 4 main theme areas of work and found some of our favourite images of those projects – how many do you recognise?

We will continue to have some resources and links available – you can see these below:

  • Anthem – Chimneys, Moors & Me
  • Voices of the Park series
  • Resource packs including walking maps
  • Youtube channel
  • Resource packs including walking maps
  • Nature’s Holme via River Holme Connections
  • The South Pennines Food Circle is a new initiative that aims to create a more sustainable and resilient food system, promoting locally produced goods, and championing sustainable practices in the food industry in the South Pennines.

It will work to boost the local economy, preserve agricultural traditions, and reduce the environmental impact associated with long-distance food transportation.

The South Pennines Food Circle will foster collaboration between local growers, farmers, and food producers, bringing together industry professionals, experts, and local enthusiasts to achieve positive change. Its new website is due to launch in 2024. For further information contact office@southpenninesfoodcircle.net

Thank you to all for your support and sense of community. There is no place like The South Pennines Park and no people like you.
