The Climate Challenge College is a sustainability education centre in the heart of Todmorden at Todmorden College.
In its second year, the Green Futures Course, provides students with a year-long taster of four different areas of sustainability – food and land, understanding the climate challenge, sustainable building, and renewable and alternative energy sources.
It also runs Climate Clubs for children and families and short Green Skills Short Courses throughout the year.
It aims to engage the whole community in climate change solutions and provide the skills and know-how the promote a local green economy.
Lydia Gaskell, assistant programme lead from the Climate Challenge College, said: “It’s lovely to have the recognition and get our name out there. and for people to heard about what we are doing.
“It’s great that others people are seeing what we are up to and all the hard work we put into the courses.
“This category aimed to celebrate green skills and trainings – and that’s exactly what e aimed to do.”
